GIVE/BACK is our ongoing commitment to using this space (and every sale we make) to support something bigger than ourselves. It’s not a campaign. It’s a core value.

What it is:

GIVE/BACK is our promise to invest in the people and places around us — right here in our downtown neighborhood, across Jefferson City, and throughout Missouri.

We’re not waiting for a special occasion to give back. We’re building it into the bones of this place.

What it supports:

Our first initiative starts with books by Black authors. Every time you buy one — in-store or online — a portion of that sale goes to local and statewide organizations doing real work in:

– Racial equity
– Education access
– Literacy and libraries
– Community healing

But that’s just the beginning.

Over time, GIVE/BACK will grow to support more causes that matter — rooted in what our community needs, and shaped by the conversations we’re having together.

You’ll see us backing efforts that support:

– Queer youth and LGBTQIA+ inclusion
– Reproductive justice
– Local food insecurity
– Mental health access
– Creative youth programs
…and whatever else rises as urgent and aligned.

Why it matters:

We’re not a big box.
We’re a local, independent, community-powered bookstore.
So when you spend here, it doesn’t just support a cool store — it supports this block, this city, and this state.
