Summer Hours, Soft Openings, and Slower Living
Lauren JaneeShare
We’re open Fridays and Saturdays only right now.
Yes, really.
And no, it’s not because we don’t love you.
It’s because we’re building something that lasts. And that means giving it time to become what it’s meant to Be.
This is a soft opening.
Which means it’s not perfect.
It’s not fully stocked.
It’s not all figured out yet.
But it is intentional.
Because the world doesn’t need more hustle.
It needs more spaces where you can breathe.
Where you can walk slowly. Linger. Wander.
Pick up a book just because it makes you feel something.
We’re choosing to open slowly. On purpose.
To listen. To adjust. To find our rhythm before rushing into one.
And yes, we’re calling it summer hours. But not in the way corporations do when they cut Fridays short for morale. We mean it in the truest, laziest, sun-warmed sense.
Let the light in.
Move slower.
Touch every book spine like it might have a secret.
Sit down if you want to. Stay longer than you planned.
This season — of the year, and of our shop — is about honoring that slower pace.
About letting the space open with us, not ahead of us.
About refusing to sprint toward “grand” anything just because the world expects it.
So if you’re wondering why we’re not open every day yet
Why the shelves aren’t fully full
Why the hours are limited
Why we’re not everywhere, all the time
It’s because we’re doing this differently.
With intention. With care. With real life still happening in the background.
And also, because summer is sacred.
And maybe bookstores can be, too.
Come visit.
Come wander.
Come slow down.
We’ll be here. Fridays and Saturdays.
Building something steady, something soft, and something worth waiting for.
